Dynamic Case Management
Dynamic Case Management
Most organizations need business processes that can be configured at runtime as opposed to the rigidity of a traditional BPM process automation. Dynamic Case Management (DCM) offers process workflows that can be customized in real-time, decisions driven by configurable business rules, greater process transparency, and efficient and auditable collaboration among stakeholders. This capability can add value in a variety of use cases in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Banking and Financial Services, and many more.
Build applications with real-time agility
What is Dynamic Case Management?
Over the past decade, Princeton Blue has helped transform a variety of business processes that are critical to our customers’ businesses using Low-code Process Automation technologies coupled with our thought leadership and expertise.
Throughout this process, we have made some key observations from these project implementations. One pattern across a variety of solutions implemented in these industries has been the need for Dynamic Case Management also known as adaptive case management, particularly for more strategic initiatives.
Dynamic Case Management refers to a set of capabilities that allow us to create applications that are far more agile and real-time in terms of workflow, collaboration, process transparency and status progression.
Where does Dynamic Case Management fit in?
The survey below breaks down the work that most of us do into 5 major categories.
Dynamic Case Management applies best to work that is consistent in nature, has defined goals, but has varying means to achieve that those goals depending on the data in the case. According to this survey, this represents almost 1/3 of the work we do.
As an example, Emergency Response in a Hospital is highly dynamic and needs to be tailored for each patient. The steps needed for each case depend on the specific emergency of the patient, medical history, diagnostic test results and how the patient responds to treatment. Dynamic Case Management can help streamline these processes and make them highly efficient. More importantly, it can improve the turnaround time and customer satisfaction.
In other words, use cases that are goal-driven and non-deterministic, where the end-point is known at the start, but the path for reaching that end-point is determined by the outcome from each milestone while observing the rules and guidelines of the organization, are best suited for Dynamic Case Management.
Key Highlights of Dynamic Case Management
Here are some characteristics of an application built using Dynamic Case Management
Dynamic Workflow
This refers to the ability to dynamically configure the sequence of steps needed to address each case at any stage in the process. While there can be a pre-configured overall template of workflow, the outcome of each step will determine what happens next.
Configurable Business Rules
Business rules can be configured to drive dynamic decision making on a case-to-case basis.
Status Progression
Real-time tracking of the status of a case with drill-down details along with configurable SLA monitoring, reminders, and escalations as required, to ensure that the process is completed within the required timeframe.
Process Transparency
Availability of all recorded information for a case with activity, milestone, and SLA level details to drive accountability, make informed decisions, and eliminate conflicts.
Collaboration
Stakeholders can collaborate in real time via threaded discussions. This ensures that everyone has access to the latest information while sharing advice, thoughts, and recommendations.
