Asset Disposal Process Automation
The Asset Disposal process requires gathering critical information about an asset from multiple accounting systems throughout the organization followed by a series of approvals backed by a robust audit trail. Here’s how Princeton Blue automated the submission and processing of an Asset Disposal Form (ADF) to improve traceability, performance, and standardization of the Asset Disposal process for a global Life Sciences customer.

About the Client
The client is a global Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company and offers one of the broadest portfolios in the industry for scientists, best-in-class products for pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, and a fully integrated service organization to support CDMO and contract testing across traditional and novel modalities. The client’s focus areas include infectious diseases and cardio-metabolic disorders.
Business Challenge
The legacy asset disposal process had become quite complicated over time and had several human tasks and activities. The following challenges contributed to the process inefficiencies:
- Poor User Experience: A highly complex manual ADF Request form without the capability to enforce validations and hide/show applicable fields based upon the type of disposal.
- Lengthy Process: Inability to automatically determine and route required disposal approvals led to manual intervention and longer cycle times.
- Manual Effort: A large amount of manual effort was required because the ADF form was not integrated with the underlying systems, requiring human intervention for mundane tasks.
- Error-prone Processes: Manual tasks in completing the ADF form led to errors in data entry.
- Lack of Visibility: The process stakeholders had no visibility into the status of the Asset Disposal Requests leading to painful follow-ups.
